- DESIGN STYLE -
I design in a naturalist abstract form. I like the airy loose look similar to what you would find in nature.
I believe that arrangements should not be exactly the same. I think it is boring and unimaginative if you see carbon-copies on each table. Designs should be part of a collection; each arrangement being of the same flowers and of similar size designed in accompanying fashion.
The flowers should be an expression of your event and personality, show it off. You are not just one thing nor is art or nature. A wedding or event should show off who you are as a person and it is a florists job as a designer and an artist to make that happen.
That is why I became a Wedding and Event Florist, to show people that floral design does not have to be the same thing you see over and over again. And that is why I do not do retail as well.
Flowers should bring joy and smiles. If you want the same ol' arrangements that everyone else has at their event I am probably not the florist for you. If you want to be unique, let's talk and see what we can come up with.
I will do my best not to design in floral foam. First and foremost, I just don't like the stuff and secondly the impact it has on the environment as it is just has nasty stuff it it doesn't float my boat. There are alternatives out there that I have not used yet, due to cost and availability but I am willing to try.
